Agrana-Juice processed only 55 thousand tons of apples so far

The Agrana-Juice Hungary Kft. processed only a little more than half of the usual volume, only 55 thousand tons of industrial apple in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, because, due to the May frosts, smaller quantity of fruit grown – said the CEO of the Vásárosnamény-based company on Thursday to MTI.

Usually during this period, apple juice processing is over 100 thousand tons, but the compressor plant will not reach this volume until the end of this year's autumn harvest – said  Szigeti Zoltán. He stressed that the Agrana-Juice is the region's largest industrial apple processor. During “normal weather conditions” processes about 200 thousand tons of fruit – reports MTI.
