Magazine: Some profitable ideas
Kochhaus in Germany offers the base materials for cooking for 20 different dishes and two of these are new every week. No dish costs more than EUR 10 and the cooking process only consists of 12 phases and 1 hour at the maximum. Most ingredients delivered come from organic farming and the packaging is manufactured by disabled people. Sweet Shop in Paris came up with something really special: the owners set up 10 workstations with sewing machines. Women have a nice cup of coffee and they sew something in the meantime. There is a laid back atmosphere and the modern Singer machines can be used for EUR 6 per hour or EUR 25 per day. Well-known English chef Frank Hannon launched a service called Friday Night Takeout. The name reveals it all: he cooks a casserole-style dish or two each Friday, featuring that week’s best seasonal produce. He buys his produce from local outlets and prices the resulting creations between GBP 8 and 10. Delivery takes place between 17:00 and 19.30 on Friday evening, leaving recipients with nothing to do but warm it up before enjoying.
