The price of cucumbers on Polish markets has doubled
In Poland, at the end of August and the first week of September, the price of cucumbers fell by 45% due to the increasing supply, but this trend quickly reversed.
In just ten days, there was a shortage on the markets again, which led to a significant increase in prices. Currently, the price of snake cucumber ranges between 7-9 PLN/kg (645-830 HUF/kg), which is double the same period last year, reported FruitVeB.
The lack of supply is also shown by the appearance of imported cucumbers, which also change hands at high prices on the Bronisze wholesale market in Warsaw. By way of comparison: on September 16, the price of domestic snake cucumbers at the Budapest Wholesale Market was HUF 700-760/kg.
