Dubai Mochi rice cake recalled
Dubai Mochi rice cake labeled gluten-free has been withdrawn from circulation due to gluten content – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) drew attention to this in a statement sent to MTI on Monday.
According to the information, based on a notification received through the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), it was determined that the Dubai Mochi rice cake labeled gluten-free also includes wheat-based dough among the ingredients on the product label, thus the product contains an allergen (gluten).
The National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority contacted the affected company, Momoko Shop Kft.
The company, in cooperation with the NKFH, and keeping in mind the health protection of consumers, immediately took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction and ensured the recall of the affected product from consumers.
The announcement states that the name of the affected product is Dubai Mochi Pistachio Kunafa Flavor, its brand is Qlove Japanese Style, 168 gram packaging, and its importer is PepisCR s.r.o. (Czech Republic).
The authority highlighted in the announcement that consumption of the product may pose a health risk to sensitive consumers.
