Honey prices are increasing – Europe will be short of supply
At the end of the acacia flowering it is known now, that the Hungarian beekeepers are in trouble, because acacia was frozen in half of the country. Outlook is not so bad from the less valuable flower honey, but it cannot replace the lost revenue.
At least a 20-40 percent honey price increase is expected this year in Hungary, due to the frost damage. Apart of this the domestic supply is not compromised, only much more had to be paid for it. The fact that 2-3 thousand tons remained in the stocks of the beekeepers last year will slow the increase of the prices. (by our colleague)
