Higher import strawberry prices than last year
This year, the import strawberries offered at a ten percent higher wholesale price than last year, while in the same period, merchant paid 2 percent less for Hungarian strawberries at the wholesale markets – Magyar Nemzet wrote.
According to the datas of the Agricultural Economics Institute, the fresh strawberry imports increased by 43 percent to 149 tons in the first two months of 2013.
In mid-April the price of domestic strawberry was 1600 HUF per kilogramme, while the dealers paid 766 HUF per kilo for Spanish, 680 HUF per kilo for Italian and 568 HUF per kilo for Greek import strawberries. (MTI, Magyar Nemzet, vallalkozoinegyed.hu)
