More expensive milk chocolate egg and rabbit figures are the most popular
Easter sweets sales are expected to be around HUF 2.3 billion-2.5 billion. According to the Nielsen Retail Index, seasonal turnover growth stopped in 2008 – in volume there was an 8-percent decline. Chocolate eggs and rabbits are the most popular figures. Last year 61 percent of figures sold were milk chocolate, while nougat realised 34 percent. Retail channels: the 401-2,500 m² one expanded from 26 to 30 percent. Private label sales were 12-44 percent in the first months of the Easter holiday season last year, while a year earlier their share was only 9-17 percent.
