Lemons and tangerines have become more expensive on the domestic market
According to AKI PÁIR data, the wholesale price of lemons on the Budapest Wholesale Market (852 forints/kilogram) increased by 23 percent in 2025 compared to a year earlier. The wholesale price of lemons increased by 34 percent to 910 forints/kilogram in the first three weeks of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

The wholesale price of limes from Brazil was 14 percent lower (1,257 forints/kilogram) in 2025 than a year earlier. In the first three weeks of 2026, it was 30 percent lower (1,196 forints/kilogram) than a year earlier. The wholesale price of oranges increased (+15 percent, 836 forints/kilogram) in 2025 compared to a year earlier. In the first three weeks of 2026, the price of oranges was 20 percent lower (675 forints/kilogram) than a year earlier. On the Budapest Wholesale Market, the wholesale price of mandarins increased by 19 percent to 940 forints/kilogram in 2025 compared to a year earlier. The price of mandarins decreased by 12 percent to 802 forints/kilogram in the first three weeks of 2026.
