Hungarian apples are expensive
Because of the drought, last year's apple crop was lower than expected – that is why consumers have to pay more for apples this year.
The average price of the domestic apple varieties at the Budapest wholesale market was 192 HUF per kilo during the fifth week, while in the same week of the previous year it was 138 HUF. The Starking has the highest price of 220 HUF and the Jonathan is offered at the lowest price 175 HUF. (by our colleague)
