DPA: the EU member states accepted a 15 percent reduction in gas consumption
The German news agency DPA learned already in the morning that the EU member states have accepted the emergency plan, which is about reducing gas consumption. However, the official confirmation had to wait until the early afternoon, according to German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, the agreement will show Russian President Vladimir Putin that Europe has remained united in the face of Moscow’s recent gas cuts. According to a Reuters report, Hungary was the only member state to oppose the agreement.
