The local government of Tel Aviv has made the decision: many shops can open on Saturdays
The local government of Tel Aviv amended the existing provisions: the shops and kiosks beside the town's main roads can open on Saturdays and on Jewish holidays as well. However, the decision should to be approved by the Minister of the Interior affairs as well.
“As in other cases, Tel Aviv has to be the pioneer in this case,” – Mayor Ron Huldai said. “But we should be careful not make a war of religion from the task. We are Jews and Judaism has always had more faces. I am proud to be a Jew who spends the Sabbath differently than other Jews “- he added. (Shiri Zsuzsa, MTI)
