Melon production increased
Melon production mood increased among the farmers in South Békés and experiences are similar nationally: the land expansion exceeds ten percent – Simonka György, ministerial commissioner, responsible for the promotion of the Hungarian fruit and vegetable products told MTI.
Simonka György announced that the shrinking of the industry has stopped. After several years of downturn the farmers in 2013, planted primeur melon seedlings on more than 5,500 hectares. The preliminary traffic datas of the domestic watermelon seed and seedling producers and distributors show a similar growth. (MTI)
