Hungarian-Uzbek agricultural cooperation is dynamic
Agricultural relations between Hungary and Uzbekistan are constantly strengthening, said István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, who met with Uzbek Agriculture Minister Aziz Voitov in Samarkand on Wednesday.
The head of the ministry explained that the relationship between Hungarian and Uzbek businesses is dynamic and communication is active. Negotiations and cooperation between the two countries take place not only at the theoretical level, but also at the project level. István Nagy emphasized that food security is a strategic issue to which both countries pay great attention. We need to provide common responses to the challenges posed by climate change, such as drought or lack of precipitation. The modernization and development of irrigation with Hungarian specialists is an opportunity that should be taken advantage of in the region. Uzbekistan’s environmental features are a huge treasure, which must be exploited by agriculture, he added.
The minister also touched on the fact that the cooperation so far in the field of science creates an excellent foundation on which we must continue to build
Great emphasis must be placed not only on the exchange of students, but also on the exchange of researchers, joint research and scientific collaborations must be established. According to István Nagy, we must move forward and cooperate not only with regard to higher, but also secondary education.
