Digital era change at Rossmann – the drugstore installs 30 more digital signage devices
Rossmann Hungary has reached another milestone in its digital developments: from mid-July, innovative digital signage (DS) devices that play an increasingly important role in point-of-sale information will be appearing in its new stores. With this development, the drugstore chain aims to communicate through modern, attention-grabbing interfaces, while significantly reducing its paper consumption in the long term.
Rossmann was among the first to appear on the domestic drugstore market with digital signage technology: it placed the first DS devices in Mammut II in Budapest and in its Ferenc körút store in 2023. The national expansion really started in January 2024, with the opening of the Árkád store, and since then such devices have been operating in 19 stores – not only in the window, but also in the facial care zones.
From July 2025, another 30 stores will join the network, the preparatory work has been completed, and the expansion has begun. Rossmann aims to deploy digital signage solutions in nearly 100 of its stores by 2026, and up to 150-200 locations by 2027.
“Digital displays give us the opportunity to communicate with our customers faster, more spectacularly and in a more targeted way. Moving images, sound, light – all of these provide a much more vivid, dynamic experience than traditional paper-based devices,”
– said Judit Ágnes Fehér, Marketing Group Manager at Rossmann Hungary.
