Digital receipt
With Christmas approaching more and more stores introduce digital receipts in the USA. At the checkout the cashier offers to send the receipt to the buyer via e-mail. Sears already started doing this last year and they also send these receipts to buyers’ mobile phones. Shoppers who are open to novelties and those who are digitally socialised welcomed the new opportunity – most people are happy to archive receipts on their computers instead of storing small sheets of paper. Others are afraid of receiving too many targeted offers via e-mail.
