Nestlé expands in Southeast Asia
Nestlé plans an investment around 260 million Swiss franc in Southeast Asia. The world's largest food company plans to expand trade and production activities in the high-potential region.
According to Paul Buckle, the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé, the investment value corresponds to the amount of the average annual spending on business investment. Nestlé invested the most, 85 million francs in Malaysia. Nestlé takes advantage of the expansion of "halal" food markets of course in accordance with the rules of Islam. Furthermore, also planning installation of new plantations for powdered coffee products and Nescafé. Nestlé will develop the production capacity of Maggi family because of the growing exports. Seventy-two million francs will be invested in the Philippines and a manufacturing plant will be built by 56 million francs in Thailand where coffee and milk products will be produced. Nestlé expects an increase in the volume of traffic in the region this year, despite the fact that the downturn heavily hit the economies of the countries in the region – reports VG Online.
