McDonald’s restaurants will be closed nationwide on December 24-25

For the Hungarian McDonald’s restaurant chain, it is a priority this year that its employees can spend the holiday season with their families. To this end, all of the company’s restaurants and the majority of franchise partner units will be closed on December 24–25.

Out of more than 120 restaurants, only the units in Aréna Mall and Allee are an exception on December 24, due to contractual obligations with the shopping centers. On December 25, only the units in Debrecen will be open.

The aim of the decision is to provide employees with a real holiday break during a period that traditionally represents a high workload in the hospitality industry. The practice has been part of McDonald’s operations in Hungary for several years.

“It is natural for us to serve our guests at a high standard every day in our restaurants – however, for this to happen, our employees must be balanced and be able to experience those shared festive moments that are important to all of us. That is why we have decided to provide them with two full days of rest at Christmas this year as well”
