Denmark abolishes the tax on soft drinks
Denmark abolishes the special tax on soft drinks. According to the expectations of the Danish government by introducing the measure new jobs will be created in the country and an upturn in economic growth can be occured in the country – the European Soft Drinks Manufacturers Association (UNESDA) told MTI on Tuesday.
The Danish government announced on Monday that the tax will be terminated in two steps: it will be reduced to 50 percent from 1 July 2013, than it will be completely abolished from 1 January 2014. Denmark was among the first countries in Europe to issue a special tax on soft drinks, which rate was among the highests in the continent. The aim of the termination of the tax is to create proper conditions in the Danish economy, to boost up economy and to create jobs. (MTI)
