Dachser opensd new branch office and takes part in transport logistics 2011
Dachser, the internationally operating logistics provider, wants to continue to grow in Germany as well. With a new branch office in Dresden, the Dachser Air & Sea Logistics business field is linking the logistics site in Saxony with its worldwide air and sea freight network. Dachler is also going to take place at the tradeshow transport logistics 2011.
With the new branch office at Dresden Airport, Dachser Air & Sea Logistics now has a presence at 17 locations in Germany. Up to now, the Dachser branch office in Berlin has processed air and sea freight from the Dresden/Leipzig region. “Our aim is to be as close to the customer as possible. The new branch office is an important step towards achieving this aim,” said Jürgen Huber, general manager of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics Germany.
The logistics company also possesses a dense air and sea network made up of its own sites and local partners in the world’s business centres. This network is continuously growing. “This is how we provide customers in our region with direct access to the worldwide procurement and distribution markets,” added Claudia Höntsch. She manages the new branch office in Dresden.
In 2010 Dachser generated total revenue of EUR 3.8 billion. 19,250 staff working in 310 profit centres worldwide handled 46.2 million consignments weighing a total of 35.5 million tonnes.
