Sándor Czomba: the government supports the strengthening of the SME sector
The government supports and intends to help the domestic SME sector strengthen and improve its international competitiveness with all possible means, said the State Secretary responsible for employment policy of the Ministry of Economic Development on Friday in Budapest, at the international professional conference of the National Association of Industrial Organizations (IPOSZ).
Sándor Czomba highlighted: it is particularly important that innovation is realized not only at large companies, but also among small companies, and that successful innovation requires a properly prepared workforce with digital skills.
In Hungary, SMEs take part in employment in a decisive way compared to their economic weight, therefore the labor shortage affects the sector more seriously than large companies – he pointed out.
The investments of the next period will generate a labor demand of around half a million in the Hungarian economy, which provides serious development opportunities for the SME sector as well – emphasized the state secretary.
He said that the government wants to alleviate the labor shortage primarily by activating and improving the employability of the domestic labor reserve of around half a million, as well as by encouraging the return of Hungarian citizens working abroad. Sándor Czomba emphasized that Hungary considers the employment of workers from third countries to be a temporary solution, which they want to make possible on a limited basis, within regulated frameworks, and only in professions that are in short supply, under specific conditions.
