Sándor Czomba: Hungarian SMEs can increase their capacities with 4 billion forints
Domestic micro, small and medium-sized enterprises can now apply for the “SME Capacity Expansion Support 3.0” program, which will provide them with nearly 2.5 million forints of support for each new employee they hire, announced Sándor Czomba, State Secretary for Employment Policy at the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), in his statement on Tuesday.
The government is doing everything it can to ensure that employment remains at a high level in our country, he added.
The “SME Capacity Expansion Support 3.0” program supports the strengthening of the competitiveness of domestic micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and job creation. The program provides non-refundable support from a total budget of 4 billion forints.
The program aims to enable enterprises to expand their number of employees through wage subsidies and equipment purchases, and to adapt to the challenges of the green and digital transition. The support can be applied for throughout Hungary, the State Secretary explained.
The application can be submitted by SMEs that have at least one closed business year, keep double-entry bookkeeping, and undertake to hire a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 new employees. An important requirement is that the employees concerned do not engage in gainful activity in the 30 days prior to the hiring
he explained.
The upper limit of the per capita subsidy is HUF 2,467,920, which consists of wage and wage contribution subsidy for 6 months, as well as equipment purchases that can be accounted for up to 30 percent of the wage subsidy. The enterprise must provide a 30 percent co-financing and must maintain employment for a further 6 months after the subsidy period.
The final implementation deadline for supported projects is July 31, 2027.
The application can be submitted electronically until February 28, 2026, through the Resource Management System of OFA Nonprofit Kft., which implements the program, the Secretary of State wrote in his statement.
