More than 1 million diabetics live in Hungary today, and the number of people who are not even aware of their involvement can be estimated at hundreds of thousands. Diabetes is a chronic disease that is an increasingly serious public health problem in our country as well. Many people do not know that there are two types of the disease: type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that cannot be reversed or prevented, but the development of type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed in some cases by regular exercise and maintaining a normal body weight. However, for this it is important that as many people as possible know about the disease and its risks, as well as regularly participate in the screening.
