The summer passenger traffic on the Balaton ferry reached a new peak this year, surpassing last year by almost 15 percent. The number of bicycles delivered increased by 25 percent compared to 2019 by the end of August, Veigl Gábor, CEO of Balatoni Hajózási Zrt. (BAHART), told MTI on Friday.

He recalled that the number of vehicles transported fell last year as a result of the pandemic, but this year it also surpassed 2019, by 7 percent. The dynamic development of cycling tourism at Lake Balaton is shown by the fact that the number of bicycles transported by ferry has increased by 50 percent in the last 5 years. (MTI)
