US consumer confidence is on top
Consumers’ assessment of current conditions in the U.S. increased in February, according to a monthly survey released on Tuesday.
The Consumer Confidence Index hit 114.8 in February, according to data from The Conference Board, the highest since July 2001. Analysts expected 110.9 points, after the 111.6 points in January.
The assessment of the current state of the economy in January rose from 130.0 points to 133.4 points, while the consumer confidence index jumped from 99.3 points to 102.4 points. (MTI)
