Csongrád-Csanád county has been hit again by bird flu
Nébih confirmed the presence of the bird flu virus in a mallard duck colony in Csongrád-Csanád county. The herd is being killed, and the animal health authority has also designated protection and observation areas.
The increased mortality and nervous system symptoms raised the suspicion of avian flu in the farm with about 9,000 mulard ducks located in Pusztaszer, Csongrád-Csanád county. The Nébih laboratory finally confirmed the presence of the H5N1 subtype of the virus. Animal health specialists immediately started to liquidate the affected herd. Furthermore, a protection zone with a radius of 3 km was designated around the given farm, as well as an extended surveillance zone larger than a circle with a radius of 10 km.
The bird flu cases detected in the past period also confirm that keeping the flocks closed and observing the epidemic prevention regulations is of utmost importance
So livestock keepers in all areas of the country must do everything they can to protect their herds from the disease. You can find information about bird flu outbreaks and current information on international trade on the Nébih bird flu webpage: https://portal.nebih.gov.hu/madarinfluenza
