Benepack Hungary Kft. is building a packaging material factory in Mako
Benepack Hungary Kft. is building a packaging material factory in the industrial park in Makó, the foundation stone of the 65 million euro (25.3 billion HUF) investment was laid on Tuesday.
Construction and Transport Minister János Lázár emphasized at the ceremony that the opening to the east works, not only as a foreign policy strategy, but also in economic reality.
The politician, who also holds the post of regional parliament representative, explained that it was the result of the government’s conscious decision that – instead of the automobile industry – investments related to the food industry would be realized in Mako. The world’s population will continue to grow in the coming years, and there will be a need for high-quality, healthy food everywhere on the globe. And the city has a tradition of hundreds of years of producing quality food.
The politician stated that the government had given generous support to the investment. As he said, he was tasked with completing the infrastructure serving the plant in the next 12 months, and for the factory to be operational in September 2024. They are building an energy, water and sewage network that creates the opportunity to expand the plant.
