Nestle decreased its CO2 footprint
The company invests HUF 100 million for environment protection in Hungary.
According to Nestle's Creating Shared
Value 2007 report the company claims to have reduced emissions by
17.3 per cent since 2003, earning a 100 per cent score for governance
of carbon issues from the CDP. Water waste is also a concern to
Nestle, which claims to have reduced use of the valuable natural
commodity by 28 per cent. In Hungary the company spent HUF 100
million for this goal.
In Hungarian plants in Szerencs and
Diosgyor company saves water with collecting the rain, recycling the
water of climasystem and modernising the drainage, it brought 20%
saving. The water usage of plant in Buk decreased with 15% in the
last two years, and in plant in Kekkuti there are several water
saving processes.
