The Ministry of Rural Development decreased this year's funding source for sugar beet growers
The Ministry of Rural Development has reduced this year's additional financing source for sugar beet growers by 800 million HUF – said Czerván György, State Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) responsible for agri management in Budapest on Wednesday, at the press conference of the Sugar and Isoglucose Production Committee. The Secretary said that the original source would have been 1.98 billion this year.
Sugar consumption in Hungary
The Secretary explained: due to the reduction the sugar beet growers will receive 5.65 euros about 2,800 HUF per tonne instead of the former 9.49 euros about 1,600 to 1,700 HUF per tonne this year. The reduction was due to the retention of the budget balance – reports MTI.
