Reduction in global food prices
After eight months of continuous increase, global food prices fell slightly in March – announced UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation, the FAO on Thursday.
The FAO price index – which is calculated on the basis of the changes in the price cereals, oilseeds, milk and meat and sugar products each monthm, was 229.8 points in March, after the 236 points of February. The February index value was the highest since its introduction in 1990 – reports MTI.
