The poultry stock declined
Because of the bird flu, the Hungarian poultry in live weight decreased by 5.2 percent and its number decreased by 4.3 percent last year, compared to the previous year – the Chairman of the Poultry Product Board told MTI.
Csorbai Attila said that despite the epidemic that affected the sector, the volume of chicken purchased increased slightly, by 0.8 percent, to more than 403,000 tonnes last year. By contrast, turkey purchases decreased by 4.6 percent to 96 570 tonnes, goose purchases decreased by 21.26 percent to 26 829 tonnes and duck purchases by 35 percent to 56 268 tonnes. (MTI)
