The rate of inflation has declined in the euro area
According to the preliminary data, the rate of inflation has fallen in the euro area in May, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the Union.
Consumer prices rose by 1.4 percent in May, compared with the 1.9 percent of April.
Preliminary data show that energy prices increased by 4.6 percent after the 7.6 percent of April, and the rise in service prices fell to 1.3 percent in May from the 1.8 percent of the previous month. The pace of increase of the food, alcohol, tobacco and industrial goods prices did not change in May, remained 1.5 percent and 0.3 percent. (MTI)
