Inflation decreased in the euro area
In March, inflation in the euro area declined year on year, compared to the previous month, while the rate of consumer price increases remained unchanged across the EU – Eurostat announced.
According to the data of the EU’s Statistical Office, the inflation rate in the euro area fell from the 1.5 percent of February to 1.4 percent in March and remained unchanged from March 2018.
In March, inflation was mainly driven by the 0.52 percent increase in energy prices and a 0.51 percent increase in services in the euro area.
In the EU, consumer prices increased by 1.6 percent, compared to March 2018. (MTI)
