Inflation decreased in the EU
Inflation dropped to a one-year low in the euro area in May and consumer prices continued to fall across the EU – Eurostat announced on Tuesday, confirming the preliminary data reported at the beginning of June.
According to the final data of the EU’s statistical office, inflation in the euro area dropped to 1.2 percent in May, from the 1.7 percent in April, compared to 1.3 percent expected by the market. This rate has been the lowest since last April. In the EU as a whole, consumer prices increased by 1.6 percent in May after the 1.9 percent of April. (MTI)
