The selling price of milk and milk products has decreased
According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 153.17/kilogram in July 2023.
In addition to the deterioration of the protein content by 0.05 percentage points and the fat content by 0.06 percentage points, as well as a 6 percent decrease in the base price, the average price of raw milk decreased by 5 percent in July 2023 compared to June 2023, and was 10 percent below the average price of the same month of the previous year. The purchase of raw milk in July 2023 did not change compared to the previous month’s volume, while it was 2 percent less than in July 2022. The export price of raw milk was HUF 147.7/kilogram in July 2023, an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous month, while it decreased by 26 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The export price was 4 percent lower than the average producer price.

The decrease in the price of raw milk in less than a month was also reflected in the other phases of the product path. According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, Trappist cheese and 2.8 percent fat canned long-lasting and fresh milk (-3 percent respectively), 1.5 percent fat long-lasting canned milk, fruit yogurt and sour cream (-4 percent respectively), the processing sales price of added butter (-11 percent) decreased.
