German retail sales decreased

German retail sales performed worse than expected at the end of the year
In December, the eighth month saw the largest decline in retail sales in Germany from the previous month, well above the expected 1.4 percent monthly decline. In November, retail sales grew by 0.8 percent on a monthly basis.
Turnover from food and pleasure goods fell 1.4 percent in December from the previous month. Supermarkets saw a 1.8 percent drop in sales. (MTI)
