Hungarian competitiveness reduced
The competition index (VEX) of GKI-Microsoft slightly decreased in the third quarter of 2009 in Hungary, Romania and Austria. The value of the business environment index (UX) was 20, higher than it was a year before.
In the third quarter of 2009 the competitiveness index decreased in Hungary, Romania and Austria by (0.3-0.4 percent) compared to the previous quarter. In the other countries the index increased. It was increased with the strongest extent in the Czech Republic and Slovakia (1.6 and 1.4 percent) and slightly in Poland and Slovenia (0.3 and 0.4 percent).
The Hungarian business environment index (UX) declined almost steadily since the beginning of 2007 until the first quarter of 2009. However it was followed by a modest in the second, and a significant increase in the third quarter.
