Retail sales declined in the euro area
In the euro area, retail sales declined on a monthly basis, and year-on-year growth slowed significantly in December. Both figures were worse than expected.

Retail sales in the euro area declined
The European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat announced on Friday that retail sales fell 3 percent month-on-month in December, after rising another 1 percent in November. Experts expected a more modest 0.5 percent monthly drop in sales in December. (MTI)
