Decreasing producer prices in agriculture
The producer prices in March decreased by 26.8 percent compared to the same period to the previous year’s – states the quick briefing of the Central Statistical Office.
The price level of the vegetable products decreased by 35.1 percent, the price of live animals and animal products declined by 5.2 percent. The producer price of cereals is to about half back. However the price of the animals has been increased by 2.2 percent, due to the significant increase in swine and in beef prices while the price of poultry has been decreased. In January-March 2009, the producer prices of agricultural products decreased by 28.7 percent. The crop price level decreased by 38.5 live animals and animal products decreased by 4.5 percent. In the first quarter of last year, the agricultural producer prices increased by 36.8 percent, the price of vegetable products increased by 51.3 percent, live animals and animal products prices were 18.8 percent higher than the January-March 2007 level.
