Decreasing real wages, but “only” in the budgetary sector
According to Central Statistical Office’s most recent report, real earnings and the number of the employed have been decreased. The biggest losers are the employees in the budgetary sector.
The gross average salaries at enterprises with less than five employees, and at financial and budgetary institutions increased by 0.3 percent during the first quarter. The net average earnings exceed with 0.1 percent than the year earlier. The real earnings because of the 3 percent inflation decreased by 2.7 percent. In the competitive sector 0.4 percent increase can be demonstrated, however a 10 percent decrease occured at the financial institutions due to the detraction of the 13th monthly benefit. During the period, the net average wage was 120,600 HUF. The number of employed in the first three months of 2009 was 2 million 672 thousand, which is a 3.4 percent decline.comparing to the same period of previous year's. In the budgetary sector, 610 thousand in the business sector approximately 1 million 876 thousand people works.
