The amount of herbs decreases
The amount of herbs harvested and grown is constantly decreasing, and in order to reverse the trend there is a need to change both in the field of collection and cultivation, according to the National Agricultural Chamber (NAK).
The communication of the National Agricultural Chamber (NAK) sent to MTI highlights the fact that the herbal sector provides employment for 20-25 thousand people in Hungary and offers outstanding opportunities for tourism.
According to the summary, the demand for medicinal, spice, aroma and industrial plants is risen in Hungary, while their collection and production amount to 8-10 billion HUF annually. About 2,000 people are working in approximately 20-25 primary herb processing plants. (MTI)
