A decrease in trade surplus
In October, the euro value of exports fell by 2.2 percent, while imports increased by 2.6 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The trade surplus was 351 million euros (107 billion HUF), 345 million euros (98 billion HUF) less than in October last year – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday. According to the second estimate, the value of exports in October 2014 reached 7.5 billion euros, while the imports amounted to 7.2 billion euros.
In the first ten months of the year, the value of export was 70.4 billion euros, while imports amounted to 65.1 billion euros. The trade balance surplus amounted to 5.3 billion euros, which was 240 million euros less, than in the same period of the last year. (MTI)
