Coffee production decreases, due to climate change
According to the datas of the International Coffee Organization (OIC); the coffee production declines worldwide, but demand is rising.
In the last 25 years, the temperature increased by half a degree in the coffee growing regions, which forces the coffee producers into higher altitude zones. The Highland coffee species nowadays grown at 1200-1500 meters above sea level. The OIC has estimated, that the temperature rise will soon lead to the point, that production will not be able to meet the demand for coffee – reports piacesprofit.hu.
