They emphasized that production in the Hungarian factories is ongoing for the time being, and the Hungarian managers of the Körmend, Zalaegerszeg and Nova factories continue to manage daily operations and negotiate issues affecting employees and partners. on issues.
According to the company,
the bankruptcy protection procedure was primarily justified by the unfavorable market environment and the structural transformation taking place in the European furniture industry.

It was added that the combined debt of the two companies affected by the bankruptcy protection proceedings is around 30 million euros, mainly to large and institutional creditors. The group’s annual revenue most recently approached 110 million euros.
According to the statement, the proceedings affect 180 employees in Austria, whose wages are covered by the state wage guarantee fund. They employ around 500 people in Romania and around 600 in Hungary.
As stated, the current goal is to preserve the group’s key business units and maintain their operations, while negotiations with strategic investors are already underway.
Headquartered in Eastern Styria, ADA Möbelwerke is one of Austria’s oldest furniture industry groups, with offices and production bases in Raaba and Anger, as well as in Hungary and Romania.
