Czech and Slovak buyers looking for Hungarian grapes
The grapes from a growing number of Hungarian wine regions are being transported continuouslym, to Czech and Slovak customers. The former price pressure policy of the domestic purchasers do not work because of the exports.
Every day, several Czech and Slovak trucks are loaded with grapes in Helvécia, next to Kecskemét. According to Bóna János, leader of Szőlő és Spárga Tész, that is organizing the export of grapes, their costumers pay 90 HUF for a kilogram of wine grapes. The foreigners, pay the higher price, so the local wineries are forced to pay 80-90 HUF per kilogram also – reports Népszabadság Online.
