Fruit prices almost doubled

Both in 2020 and 2019, Hungarian fruit growers had a very bad year, so in two years the fruit prices in Hungary increased significantly, almost doubling – Apáti Ferenc, chairman of the FruitVeb Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organization and Product Council told InfoRádió.

In the past year – with one or two exceptions – there has been a 20-22% increase in the price of all types of fruit in Hungary, according to the Infostart website. All this so that the prices were relatively high already in 2019, so if we compare the year 2020 with a multi-year average, we could talk about a 40-50% increase in prices, said Apáti Ferenc.
