Nearly 400 malls have been closed in Russia due to fire safety deficiencies
In Russia, the operation of 391 malls was suspended – due to the violation of fire regulations – since the tragic mall fire in Kemerovo at the end of March – Rinat Jenyikeev, director of the department of control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced at a press conference in Moscow.
According to Jenyikejev, offenses were terminated before the deadline in 114 malls. The director said that 63,000 out of the 85,000 often-visited buildings in the country had been monitored in the last two months. The cabinet leader will present his report to the cabinet on 30 July.
