Cofidis Credit Monitor: kitchen money increased by 30,000 HUF , many people won’t even buy a Christmas tree this year
According to the results of the Cofidis Credit Monitor research, the majority of people would need 200,000 HUF per month to comfortably live off their income.

More money is needed for food, too
Compared to last Christmas, Hungarians would cut back on their spending, 35 percent of them would like to get by the end of the year with even less. Most people plan for the holidays with 100,000 forints, and they want to manage the gifts and menu ingredients from this. However, 18 percent of the adult population will not spend at all on Christmas, revealed the representative research of the Cofidis Credit Monitor.
20 percent of the respondents claim that they are comfortable with their income. At the same time, four fifths of the respondents have insufficient family funds. This shortfall means about 200,000 forints per month for the majority of people – that’s all they need in addition to a comfortable life. The change among young people is particularly spectacular: while in March 45 percent of 18-29-year-olds saw themselves as living comfortably, by October this proportion had already dropped to 15 percent.
