A cigarette smuggler’s criminal gang was found in Szabolcs
About 25 million HUF worth smuggled cigarettes, technical equipments and vehicles were seized in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) – the authority’s spokesman told MTI on Thursday.
Béla Simon said that the NAV struck the smugglers at night when 17,000 boxes of untaxed tobacco were transported. The mode of transportation also surprised the financial investigators, with criminals littering an off-road vehicle with cigarettes, carefully packaged smuggling items on the top and sides of the car.
