Company trend in 2024: a more positive half-year, but still a negative message
The lowest number of companies in the last five years was registered in June this year. The number of new company court proceedings exceeded 20,000 again in the first six months of the year. It seems that no significant changes in company trends are expected this year.
Based on OPTEN’s data, a negative record was set in June this year in the number of social enterprises, the number of companies did not reach 510,000. This is the lowest value in the last five years, and the contrast is particularly striking if we take into account that the number of companies operating during these 5 years already exceeded 530,000. The number of social enterprises continues to show a downward trend, which has persisted for nearly two years.
By the end of last year, the decrease in the number of companies exceeded 12,000. This year, the number of social enterprises decreased by more than 7,000 during the first half of the year, which is lower compared to the decrease of more than 8,500 in the same period of the previous year, but it is still considered significant. This means that in the first half of this year, one out of seventy companies did not make it through the summer.
