The age of corporate empires?
Last year only 24,000 new companies were established in Hungary – a 6% drop from the previous year and an 18% plunge from 2022.
This is the weakest performance in eight years. While entrepreneurship has declined, more than 6,000 entrepreneurs now run more than six companies, and “business empires” with ten or more firms have continued to grow. More than 1,000 individuals have a stake in ten or more companies. The number of people who indirectly control six or more firms has reached 10.5 thousand, and there are 3.5 thousand people with an interest in 11 or more businesses. //
